How Skillled works?
Skillled is a platform that connects clients and professionals for jobs that can be done remotely. These jobs can be paid by the hour or by a fixed price.
When a client accepts a proposal for a fixed-price project, the client makes an escrow payment. This payment remains with Skillled until the project milestones are completed and the client releases the payment to the professional.
If a problem occurs with the project, it may be possible for the project to be cancelled. In this case, the value that is still in guarantee on the platform (the value that the client has not yet released to the professional) may be refunded to the client (check our project cancellation policy).
In the event that there is a cancellation with restitution to the client, by process this value will remain as a credit in the client's Skillled account. At this time, the client may choose to use the value as a credit in future contracts or choose to withdraw these funds.
This information is also valid for the cases in which the client adds credit to his account
Option 1: Account Credit
To use this value in future contracts, when directed to the payment page, simply select the "Account Balance" option. In the event that the value to be paid is greater than the balance in the account, the client must pay the difference to start the new project. If the value to be paid is less than the balance in the account, the difference will remain as a credit and the customer may use it again in another contract or or choose to withdraw the difference remaining in the account.
Option 2: Refund
In the event that the client opts for a refund of the balance in the account, the refund will be made according to the clients chosen payment method setup in their Account Profile.
It is important to clarify that, in all cases, the withdrawal costs of any method are the responsibility of the client. In neither case will Skillled be responsible for these costs.
Refund value
Whenever a refund is requested, we will return the total value that the client has in his Skillled account. Skillled does not retain any value and we do not charge a redemption fee.
It is important to remember that refunds are only possible on fixed price projects or for added funds. Hourly projects do not work with guarantee payments and for this reason they work differently. In hourly projects it is not possible to receive reimbursement for the hours registered, approved and paid by the client. See our reimbursement policy for hourly tasks.

The process is managed by Skillled within the next 48 business hours after receiving the refund request (see instructions above).
